Rep. Baguilat remits P3.5M scholarship fund to IFSU

(13Dec2011 by ifugao posts)
Ifugao representative Teodoro Baguilat, Jr. recently remitted the amount of P3,500,000 to the Ifugao State University (IFSU) with main campus at Lamut, Ifugao as tuition fee assistance for his scholarship program.
Rep. Baguilat is currently supporting the education of 825 students, of which 87% or 718 students are studying at IFSU while 13% or 107 students are enrolled in other schools outside the province.

Dr. Dinah Corazon M. Licyayo, IFSU Director for Student Services and Development said that the scholarship program allocates P4,000 to each student as payment for tuition and miscellaneous fees. However, the student needs to shoulder the remaining fees since the regular amount of fees per semester exceeds P5,000.
Aside from the scholarship program of Rep. Baguilat, other government agencies and private individuals/organizations also provide financial assistance to IFSU students. These initiatives will further strengthen the manpower development of the province in particular and the country in general.#

we cannot really avoid the upsurge of tuition fees. as in other countries, higher education is becoming more and more expensive. government subsidy on higher education is almost stagnant but the number of students entering the colleges and universities continue to increase.
